Hello All, Please let me first apologize for not writing my blog for so long. I was on vacation last week and worked on Almost Home and volunteered at my favorite nursing home. It was glorious. Update: Dad is finally sleeping through the night (I sound like a new mother) after 6 years of living here with me. It occurred to me the other day when I was talking about the Alzheimer's drugs with another caregiver that Dad has been taking his Razadyne and Namenda in the afternoon. Since they are both stimulants, you would think that I would have realized that was not helping his sleeping situation. So I called his neurologist and he said that it was fine if I wanted to try giving him the pills early in the morning. BINGO! He has slept all night long for the last 4 nights in a row. I wonder why I was not told to do this six years ago! At least I eventually found out. Now I might actually get to have a good night's sleep for a change! |
