Last night, I was talking to Dad about my Six Bed Family Care home I am building for people with Dementia here in town. I have always felt that a smaller, residential setting is better than an institutional type place so the residents don't feel like they are living in a hospital. Anyway, there isn't one here in town, so I decided to build one. I also decided to build the house as environmentally friendly as possible. So I went to a meeting last night where a lot of the people involved in "green building" were going to be networking. When I told Dad I was going to build the house "green", He replied, "I think that if you paint the house green, it may turn some people off. I like the grey cedar shakes and natural stone like it looks in the picture in your office."' Like Kermit says, "It ain't easy being green!" |
