Back to “Normal”
Boy what a long month this has been.
Dad has had bronchitis, I had two eye infections, my mother-in-law had a stroke and passed away, and my boyfriend David severed his thumb with a table saw.
Just another month in the life of a caregiver, right?
Now that Dad is well, we finally made it out to the grocery store (felt like a tropical vacation after being stuck inside for nearly a month) since the weather was pretty nice yesterday.
As we walked toward the store, I locked my car doors and the horn honked. Then another patron locked his car door and his horn honked, and then a third car honked.
"Why are all of those people honking at us?" My Dad asked, since the cars he remembers did not have this door locking feature.
"Because you are so good looking." I replied.
"Well, that's understandable." He said with a smile.
It is so nice to have things back to normal. Even if our normal is taking place in 1964!
