| A Renewed Drive to Drive? |

Dad stopped driving in 2004 when he got lost while taking his dog to the vet. After he moved in with me, I kept his car outside with a "dead battery" for a few months until he finally stopped asking about it. He has never mentioned driving again over the past six years. He always says that he enjoys being "chauffeured". Last night, we were heading out to visit with a friend of ours and as we approached the car, I walked toward the driver's side door, as always. "Oh, are you going to drive tonight?" Dad asked matter-of-factly. "Yes, I thought I would." I replied with a bit of bewilderment in my voice. "Okay." He said as he made his way over to the passenger side. I guess the driving neuron has just been in hibernation instead of being permanently gone. I suppose I should start hiding the car keys! |
