Dad was finally released from the hospital on Saturday. He had a new pacemaker/defibrillator implanted on Thursday and by Saturday he had forgotten the whole experience. When I told him that he had a new pacemaker, I told him that the surgeon told me that it should last another five years. "Was the surgeon young?" He asked. "Yes." I replied, a little puzzled by the question. "He's pretty young." "Good." He replied. "Since he did such a good job, he can put in my next one." Now that's looking to the future with optimism! |
