Wonderful Program in Winston-Salem, NC Print
Tuesday, 05 June 2007

My Dad is enrolled in this wonderful, free program (he thinks it’s part of the Veteran’s, but I tell him everything is):

The Kate Mills Snider Geriatric Psychiatric Outreach (GO) Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. It is a collaborative outreach service that brings mental health care to seniors who need it at home.

GO Team members are physicians and other health care professionals specializing in Geriatric Mental Health. The GO Team is able to bring Mental Health Services to homebound elders (in private homes & independent living; service is not provided in Assisted Living Facility or Skilled Nursing Facility settings.)

Thanks to a generous gift from the Snider Family in honor of Kate Mills Snider, the services are provided at no cost to the patient. The program was developed under the direction of Dr. Deirdre Johnston and is now under the direction of Dr. Burton Reifler.

The Snider Family established the endowment in gratitude for Dr. Johnston’s care of their mother.

The Program Coordinator, Melissa Smith, can be reached at (336) 716-0690 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
